This is my first blog entry which covers my life as a Lion rather than background information.
On Monday night I attended a workshop for new members at our Multiple District Headquarters (MDHQ) in King’s Heath, Birmingham. The workshop was run by District Leadership Officer, Phil White, and attended by 13 newish members as well as a four experienced Lions.
The workshop covered the history of Lions Clubs International as well as the structure and administration of the organisation. It is just one of a number of training sessions available to Lions in the district.
In addition to this I was able to persuade three of the new members to add their names to the district mailing list which I maintain and which is now the main source of information for members throughout the district.
Tuesday was my grandson’s first birthday but that night saw me accompanying my wife, Zone Chair Christine, to the club meeting of Sutton Coldfield and Erdington Lions where she inducted two new members, David and Alfred. Welcome to them both.
Finally tonight, apart from writing this blog entry, I spent a small amount of time updating the district web site
