Happy New Year to everyone who reads this blog. I hope that it brings you everything you want. For me it will eventually bring me to the position of District Governor of district 105M within Lions Clubs International but there are several challenges that face me before then.

For one thing I have to be elected at convention in March and, although I am the only candidate, this can not be taken for granted. Nevertheless I have to work on the basis that I will be elected and start the job of putting together a district cabinet for my year.

Or more accurately sprints on. November has been another busy month as far as Lions is concerned. On top of that the month started with the birth of my second grandson, Joshua. Later in the month one of my brothers was diagnosed with and operated on, successfully, for a brain tumour. Once again I find a month has passed since my last blog although this time the month did include two weeks holiday. Not that I could totally escape Lions on holiday although I suppose I could have not found local wi-fi to check my mail. In just over a year, all things being equal, my fellow 1st Vice District Governors will be making our final preparations to attend Lions Clubs International’s International Convention in Hamburg. While there we will attend four days of training before being sworn in as District Governors for 2013/2014. As part of the lead up to this we attended our second training weekend at St John’s Hotel in Solihull.

And so the days have flown past again and the blog has lain untouched. I keep meaning to write something but I never seem to get around to it. At last I’ve found myself with a couple of hours and the will to write something so here goes.

I really need to be more diligent in writing this blog but I seem to be so busy both with Lions stuff and work. This will be a short post covering what I’ve been doing since our District Convention

It’s almost exactly a year since I started this blog after I was elected as 2nd Vice District Governor for Lions District 105M (The UK Midlands). This weekend just gone I was lucky enough to be elected as 1st Vice District Governor for the 2012-13 year so the journey continues. The scary thing is that in around 1 year from now, all things being equal, I will be the District Governor Elect.
